The Health Insaaf Card initiative in Punjab provides substantial healthcare benefits to residents, eliminating financial barriers to essential medical treatments. Introduced following the success of the Ehsaas Rahan program, this card was announced by Imran Khan on December 13, 2024, in response to prevalent health challenges.
Coverage Details:
- Secondary Care: Initial coverage of PKR 60,000 per family per year, with additional coverage also available. Includes medical and surgical procedures, emergency admissions, maternity services (normal delivery and C-section), antenatal checkups, family planning consultations, and post-hospitalization care. It also covers fractures, injuries, and local transportation costs.
- Priority Treatment: Initial coverage of PKR 300,000 per family per year, with additional coverage available. Covers all medical and surgical procedures, specialized treatments for heart diseases, diabetes, burns, road traffic accidents (RTA), end-stage kidney diseases, chronic infections, organ failures, cancer treatments (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery), and neurosurgical procedures.

Motivated by his personal experience, he envisioned addressing this issue by introducing health cards for individuals who needed medical care but lacked access due to financial constraints. Following his mother’s passing, Imran Khan established the Shaukat Khanum Hospital, a facility dedicated to providing free cancer treatment to patients. In a significant move towards improving healthcare accessibility, approximately 440 billion rupees were allocated for health initiatives. On March 22, 2022, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced in Lahore, Punjab, the implementation of the Insaf Health Card program, aiming to ensure that every citizen of Punjab could receive essential healthcare services.
To obtain the INSAF Health Card, there are several methods available:
- Send your ID card number via SMS to 8500 from your mobile phone.
- Register yourself through the Ehsaas Health website.
- Visit the distribution center at the district health center or contact the NADRA office to verify eligibility.
